Thousands of clinicians worldwide rely on the TM55 and TM65 treadmills to deliver the accuracy and reliability required for exercise stress testing. The digitally-controlled AC-drive system provides the high torque required for accurate treadmill speed and grade, regardless of patient weight. With over 10,000 in active use, these treadmills are the world?s top selling medical treadmills.
The treadmill belt starts gently, then slowly increases speed in smooth, 0.1 mph increments for patient comfort and confidence. This eliminates jerky motions that can catch patients off guard and compromise their safety. The treadmills are controlled by the Burdick Quest system. The system operator can use the Quest controller to seamlessly adjust speed and percent grade as well as start and stop the unit.
High torque is imperative for accurate speed and grade control. Burdick treadmills consistently deliver high torque over the entire treadmill speed and patient weight range. At lower speeds, typical DC-drive treadmills are unable to compensate for heavier footfalls because they lack the necessary torque. However, the TM55 and TM65 treadmill with their powerful drives enable patients to enjoy a natural walking/running sensation with no ?lag? when their feet strike the belt. The digitally-controlled drive system on the TM55 and TM65 eliminates many of the moving parts that can wear out on traditional treadmill designs. There are no motor brushes or speed change mechanisms, and fewer drive belts, resulting in a high level of dependability. The TM55 and TM65 treadmills have successfully endured tens of thousands of miles of testing without a single drive system failure.
